Come to our special preview event, the New Story Experience, on Saturday, November 3 and spend a day with mind-expanding thinkers, transformative activists, weavers of a new story through play, music, ideas, and community. what is the new story experience?
The New Story Experience is a one-day conference that will run from 10am to 10pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Huston-Tillotson University near downtown Austin (where the main festival will also be held). The New Story Experience will feature:
Live music from up-and-coming local artists.
Keynote presentations and conversations with activist/author Brian McLaren, feminist Muslim rapper and ethicist Mona Haydar, the justice doula Micky ScottBey Jones, acclaimed performer and playwright Amparo Garcia-Crow, and festival founder/Irish peace activist Gareth Higgins.
Breakout sessions that offer a taste of each of our festival program areas: Deepen, Act, Create, Perform, Think, Connect, and Play.
An exhibition hall with representatives from our festival partners - local artists, activists, non-profits, schools, and other social innovators working to make a difference in the world.
Childcare for ages 2-10 is available (for a small fee) to all those who need it. Please note this when you register for your tickets.

how do I attend?
Each of our partner organizations will be given two free tickets for the event to give out as they see fit. Find out more about how your organization can become a program partner or financial sponsor.
Everyone else can buy tickets for the New Story Experience! Seats are limited and will go quickly, so don't delay. Base-price is $49, but, if you need it, we also offer a $10 ticket option, or if you are able, we invite you to help financially support the launch of the full New Story Festival next Spring by opting to pay more, up to $149. Your generosity will enable us to bring to life a festival full of energy and inspiration, an economically diverse community with extraordinary ideas, groundbreaking action for the common good, and lots of fun!
